‘God must have loved Afghans because he made them so beautiful’

-Alexander the Great-

My name is Sahar Ehsas and I am a journalist. I am originally from Afghanistan. At the age of seven my family decided to move to England from Pakistan. We moved because of the never ending war in Afghanistan.

From a very young age I’ve always dreamed of becoming a journalist, with the help of the education system in England I managed to achieve my goals and am now working for a big media organisation.

I now want to work towards helping others achieve their goals, and I’m talking about the friends, family, women, children and men that are still left behind in Afghanistan.

This blog is based on Afghanistan and the issues people face there. I focus a lot on good things happening in Afghanistan as we don’t often get to see that on the news.

My Blog may not reach many people but I hope that one day Afghanistan and other less fortunate countries around the world get the help they need to stand on their own feet, without having to rely on others and for women to be given the simple human rights that they need and deserve.

  1. Hi! I do think Your blog is very intresting and the photos are great! I am a scientists from Poland and I am writing my PhD about state- building in Afghanistan after 2001. From Your blog I’ve known You travel to Afghanistan maybe You could recommend me some places to stay in Kabul (I will be in Kabul for one month probably in October or November 2012). Thanks in advance! Kinga rodkiewicz

    1. Hello,
we have great places like the continental hotel (…0.0.et9Io_MaNJc&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=aa371a1c4c8326fa&biw=1280&bih=824), as well as Serena hotel and many more places.
But try doing more research you may find cheaper places..I can name you hunderds of tourist destination as well: Estalef, Qargha, Sayaad, and so many more!
You just need to find a guide who is fluent in your language.
Otherwise, Afghanistan doesnt lack anythingg..we are officially known as the Paris of Asia and have a great history in tourism.
I have been away for the past five and a half years :((
But good luck to you..have fun 🙂
