Afghanistan has finally been able to win a trophy in its history.
The competition was hard, Afghanistan had to face experienced and well trained players but they managed to grab the trophy and head home with heads held high.
Finally after the match ended, the Afghan players danced a dance of joy with the Afghan flag draped over their shoulders, in celebration of winning the game.
“You can’t imagine how big this moment is for our country, our fans, our team and me,” said Afghan coach Yousef Kargar.
“We have proved that we belong in the world of football. Our team has improved a lot over the last few years and I am sure we will get better in the years to come.”
Afghanistan only recently emerged on the football pitch against other countries. There were scenes of celebration and joy on the streets of Kabul, where people crammed into restaurants and cafes to watch the final.
The people of Afghanistan celebrated all over the country, for the first time after thirty years of war. They finally cried the cries of joy.
